Lana Pacheco, Fitness Director

Lana holds a B.A. in Physical Education from the California State University in Northridge & holds multiple national certifications, including National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer & Weight Management, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, & NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist. Lana is also LeMond RevMaster Cycle certified & TRX certified. With her extensive background, Lana is a valuable resource for both members & the training staff. She trains all fitness levels & all ages from athletes to those rehabilitating from injuries. “I have worked with individuals of varying ages & abilities. I enjoy all aspects of developing challenging, yet attainable programs for these individuals. My motto is ‘More is not always better.'”

David Aguayo

David is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, has a Bachelor of Arts in Design from UC Davis, & is currently working towards his degree in Kinesiology/Fitness, Nutrition & Health (SRJC). David has won awards in bodybuilding which makes him a perfect fit for those interested in his specialties: bodybuilding, power lifting, muscle hypertrophy, physique enhancement, general fitness, & weight loss. David enjoys hiking, drawing, bodybuilding, & power lifting. “My goal is to help others achieve their personal best. Each little step adds up to something special over time. The most important thing is consistency.”

Nick Barbieri

A NESTA Certified Personal Trainer, Nick has a sports background that includes golf, basketball, & competitive sand volleyball, as well as experience as a high school basketball coach. Nick trains individuals of all fitness levels & his sports experience makes him a great trainer for golfers, basketball players, & other sports aficionados as he knows what it takes to train & play. “The human body is our temple. I have a passion to teach people ways to keep it strong & healthy.”

Sabrina Mitchell

Sabrina is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Group Exercise Instructor, Reebok Certified Cycling Instructor, & has taken numerous courses & trainings over the years. She has been a Group Exercise Instructor with Parkpoint since 1985 & specializes in both strength & effective cardio training. As a Pilates Personal Trainer, Sabrina trained with Balanced Body University & completed Levels I–IV in reformer as well as mat training. With her diverse background, Sabrina is able to train clients of all ages & fitness levels either on the fitness floor or in the Pilates Studio. She specializes in addressing muscular imbalances, strengthening & stabilizing the core, and staying fit as we age. Sabrina has the unique ability to connect with any individual & create a program based on their needs & abilities. “I want to inspire, motivate, & coach my clients so that they achieve their goals.”

Layne Scoggins

Layne is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Keiser Indoor Cycling Instructor, & USA Triathlon certified. Layne is a passionate cyclist, triathlon competitor, & a six-time Ironman finisher. As a discerning listener & an enthusiastic motivator dedicated to meeting the needs and interests of his clients, he is very skilled in training individuals of all abilities. “Your body is the greatest instrument you’ll ever have. Use & move it every day.”

Joey Tuohy

Joey is a Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM); Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) (in progress); Certified Massage Therapist (CAMTC); & Massage Therapist, National Holistic Institute. She has a B.S. in Kinesiology-Exercise Science from Humboldt State University. Other credentials include FMT Basic: Kinesiology Taping Practitioner Certification, Graston Technique Therapy Speciality (GTS) (in progress), & Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Joey specializes in injury care through manual therapy, Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), taping, & corrective exercises. “Let nothing hold you back from creating the life you’ve always wanted.”

Xerius Umstead

Xerius is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer & Kinesiology Major (pre-physical therapy) at SRJC. His specialties are Spartan Race training, circuit training, boot camps, core strength, stability, balance, agility, & weight loss. “My mission is to provide my knowledge & support to help others reach their goals & keep their goals.”

Krista Williams

Krista is certified with NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Trainer Association), & is a TRX qualified trainer. Krista has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University. She continues her studies in strength & conditioning & current training methods. Her passion lies specifically in whole body movement exercises, core balance, & improving flexibility & joint stability, along with the proper nutrition needed for achieving long- & short-term fitness goals. She has extensive experience working with members who have just completed physical therapy and rehab. She has 10 years’ experience as a coach of competitive running, gait mechanics, triathlon training, & other athletic sports. She designs innovative programs that will not only challenge the body, but the mind as well. Krista offers very focused & well-balanced sessions that are easy to incorporate into the workout regimen. “Our bodies are complex systems. When one part is compromised, this creates a chain of events that over time may develop dysfunctions in the body. I truly believe we are only as strong as our weakest link, & it is essential to create a balanced & healthy body for both sport & life.”
