Who Will Benefit from Functional Training?
Mel Salada, Fitness Director
The name, ‘Functional Training’ really does state the purpose. Functional Training is designed to train a person to move objects that are not perfectly balanced, for example the human body. An exercise that uses a person's bodyweight as the resistance will require increased core strength, balance, and joint stability. Moving inanimate objects that are off-balance, out-of-round, or cumbersome will also result in similar benefits. The equipment used in our new Functional Training area will include TRX suspension gyms, kettlebells, medicine balls, plyometric boxes, and heavy ropes. The world is full of objects that are not convenient to move.
So in a nutshell any person younger, older, new to exercise, or seasoned athlete that enjoys movement would benefit from Functional Training. For more information please contact Mel Salada.
