BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS
Uses 7-point ultrasound technology to accurately measure and track changes in fat loss AND muscle gain (detailed graphs to indicate % Body Fat, weight, fat and muscle thickness, BMR, and BMI). Ultrasound measurements are not affected by hydration, exercise level, and caffeine intake, therefore provide more consistent results. Analysis also provides Basal Metabolic Rate Calculation (Calorie burn rate and allotted calories for weight loss) and “Relative Disease Risk” for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREENINGS (FMS and FTS)
The FMS and FTS are innovative tests comprised of fundamental movement patterns assessments that require a balance of mobility and stability. The screenings are designed to identify dysfunctional movement patterns and asymmetries within the body to determine if corrective exercises are necessary to avoid injury and improve athletic performance.
AEROBIC CAPACITY TEST
Sub-maximal VO2 test conducted on treadmill or bike. VO2 testing reveals the exercise level that will optimize your ability to burn fat or to increase cardio strength. A higher VO2 rate = more efficient workouts. Test will track rate of oxygen uptake/consumption, measured during exercise, and show anaerobic threshold. Knowing your unique anaerobic threshold will help us design a workout plan to improve your fitness and maximize calories burned.
Dr. Grant Dobson offers a variety of assessments and services (such as Running Gait Analysis) at Parkpoint Sonoma.
Conducted at Sonoma Valley Hospital. Screens for Metabolic Syndrome and the following:
- Cholesterol: HDL, LDL, and Triglyceride Analysis—Used to screen for a risk of developing heart disease.
- Hemoglobin A1c (Hgb A1C) Analysis: Evaluates the average amount of glucose in the blood over the last 2 to 3 months.
Used to help identify those with an increased risk of developing diabetes. Also used to diagnose and monitor diabetes.
