Jared Diaz

Jared is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer since 2006 with a personal focus on overall health and well-being. Over the last six years Jared has been into body building, circuit training, and health as well as a passion for working with children and fitness. He loves to stay active, and in addition to holding a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, he enjoys basketball, backpacking and hiking, rock climbing and water sports.

Jared Diaz
Jim Thomas

Jim Thomas holds a B.A. in Psychology and Liberal Arts from Sonoma State University, Teaching Credentials, and has done graduate work in Sports Psychology and Human Development at Sonoma State University. He is certified as a Personal Trainer through the Health & Fitness Institute of Hayward State University and is Cycle Reebok certified. Jim has been a Personal Trainer since 1990, a former owner and sales rep in the health food and nutritional supplement industry; an early childhood educator at Santa Rosa Junior College and a physical fitness instructor for the U.S. Coast Guard. Jim has trained individuals of all fitness levels from elite athletes to those rehabilitating from injury. Jim’s hobbies include mountain biking, camping, the outdoors, backpacking, orienteering & gardening.

“I believe human beings are meant to move a lot. Physical fitness is an integral part of total health. Exercise should be developed as a life long habit that is fun and adds meaning to our lives. Therefore, I do not believe in ‘no pain, no gain’. Rather, fitness can be achieved by a coaxing of slow physiological changes or adaptations over a period of time thus enhancing our sense of well being."


John Adams

 

John Adams has been a Fitness Instructor since 1999 and has been with Parkpoint Club since 1998. He is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer and holds a Keiser Cycling certificate as well. John is also an instructor at the Santa Rosa Junior College where he is as an Instructional Assistant for Adaptive PE classes. With this background John not only serves the general population, but athletes and those individuals rehabilitating from injuries. In his free time John enjoys cycling, playing drums, listening it music, spending time with his daughter, and keeping active and staying in shape.

“I believe that because we are only given one body in this lifetime, we should treat it right. Take care of it, so that you can remain active through out your lifetime.”


John Adams
Lana Pacheco

Lana Pacheco holds a B.A. in Physical Education from the California State University in Northridge. She is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified Personal Trainer, a YMCA Fitness Instructor, YMCA Strength Trainer Instructor, and is also Cycle Reebok certified. Lana has been a Personal Trainer since 1992. She’s been on the fitness staff at Parkpoint since 1994 and was the Assistant Fitness Director from 1998 – 2005. She now chooses to focus her career on her passion to personal train full time. With her extensive background, Lana trains all fitness levels from athletes to those rehabilitating from injuries. In her spare time Lana enjoys softball, fishing and wave-watching.

“I have worked with individuals of varying ages and abilities. I enjoy all aspects of developing challenging, yet attainable programs for these individuals. My motto is ‘more is not always better’”.

Lily Strasburg

 

Lily was certified in 2005 with the National Personal Training Institute, and is currently studying for her teaching credential at Sonoma State University. Included in her training was over 100 hours of nutrition education. Lily has a strong dance background including ballet, jazz and modern as well as experience in Pilates and yoga. Lily has studied for three years with a meditation master and she loves infusing deep breathing techniques into personal training. As a trainer Lily likes to integrate all of her mind/body background into training all levels of fitness.

"It is highly rewarding to give clients an individualized program and exercise experience that can be a transforming, positive and supportive force in their lives. Witnessing their growth is truly a privilege!"

Sabrina Mitchell

Sabrina Mitchell has worked as a Group Exercise Instructor for the Parkpoint Club since 1985 and has been certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as Group Exercise Instructor since 1991. In 2004 she was certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as Personal Trainer. She currently teaches a number of group exercise formats, including cycling, muscle workouts, and water classes. Her specialty is strengthening the core. Sabrina enjoys skiing and boating with her family, dining and traveling.

"My goal is to teach my clients body awareness principles (posture, flexibility and muscle) in order for them to execute each exercise to their full benefit."
