Never tried Pilates? Don’t know what the Pilates Reformer is? Try it out for free and see what all the ‘Talk is About’. Free Reformer orientations are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with our talented Pilates staff. Sign ups are at the Front Desk.
Parkpoint’s Pilates staff are all certified Pilates trainers. They will help you create a personalized program that addresses your needs and helps you reach your goals. Under their guidance you will become more aware of how your body functions and learn how to move with greater control, efficiency, and strength. It will feel as if you are meeting your body for the first time––in a good way!
Our Pilates Trainers offer one-on-one training on both the mat and the Reformer, a piece of equipment specifically designed to train the body using Pilates principles.

Ava Motter
Ava is mat certified in Pilates through The Physical Mind Institute. She also has apparatus training through the Integrated Teacher Training (ITT) program. She is currently completing her mastery work at ITT. Ava has over 20 years of dance and movement experience and continues her study of Pilates. A thorough and detailed teacher, Ava brings her gentle and kind teaching style to her Pilates instruction. She enjoys working with a wide array of clients from fitness students and athletes to seniors and novice exercise students.

Deena Lavender
Deena has been practicing Pilates Mat since 1998 and is certified through the Physical Mind Institute. She was certified in Apparatus by Balanced Body University and is also a Certified Personal Trainer through AFAA. Deena currently teaches Pilates Mat classes at Parkpoint. She specializes in core stability using props and balance tools to focus on those muscle groups that are underused in our day-to-day habitual patterns of movement. Deena believes that “her empathetic, encouraging teaching style inspires her students to work toward better balance, strength integration and spinal alignment thus improving the body’s overall wellness”.

Nina Joly
Trained in Pilates Mat and Apparatus through the highly regarded Body Kinetics Studio in Mill Valley from 2005-2006. Certified by the American Council on Exercise in Group Exercise, Nina holds additional certifications in kickboxing, spinning, aqua, and NIA. Her goal for clients is to develop a fitness regime that includes cardio, strength, core strength and flexibility for a balanced and fun workout that will ultimately enhance and improve sports performances as well as functional daily movement.

Sabrina Mitchell
Sabrina has been involved in the fitness industry for over 25 years and is dedicated to ongoing education and training. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Group Exercise Instructor, Reebok Certified Cycling Instructor, and has taken numerous courses and trainings over the years. She has been a Group Exercise Instructor with Parkpoint since 1985 and specializes in both strength and effective cardio training. As a Pilates Personal Trainer, Sabrina trained with Balanced Body University and completed Levels I – IV in reformer as well as mat training. With her diverse background Sabrina is able to train clients of all ages and fitness levels either on the fitness floor or in the Pilates Studio. She specializes in addressing muscular imbalances, strengthening and stabilizing the core and staying fit as we age. Sabrina has the unique ability to connect with any individual and create a program based on their needs and abilities.
